This is just a quick post to remind you to take the plunge and follow your dreams. I have always worked for someone else and been miserable. Although I am still freelancing at the moment, starting this blog was the best decision I have even made.
I think birthdays are a big deal and something fabulous must be done each year to celebrate YOU. My friend Audrey feels exactly the same, every year she organizes a series of fun and fabulous activities. Unfortunately I have missed the celebrations the last few years because I was either double booked or traveling. This year however I was able to attend and it was lovely.
The location was Ladurée Soho for brunch and the theme was Parisian. By Parisian I mean we all had to dress up in a Parisian outfit. This was exciting for me because I love any excuse to get dressed up. At first I found the theme a little challenging purely because it felt like 1000 degrees outside. But once I got passed the heat I manage to figure something out. All of us committed to the theme and it was so cool to see everyone’s take on it.
On Saturday I attended Ashley Stewart’s ‘Rock the block’ event. I wanted to check this event out because I have family members that shop there and the festivities they had lined up for the day looked good.
Unfortunately we arrived a little later than I wanted due to me over sleeping. This was a little frustrating because one of the main reasons I wanted to go was to catch the panel about, ‘being your own boss in the face of adversity’. We did however catch the sample sale and the model boot camp with Chistina Mendez who by the way is gorgeous. Model boot camp was basically a run down of how to make it as a plus size model, the do’s and don’ts plus tips on how to have longevity in that industry.
